This Maintenance Manual is provided as a guide for the maintenance, repair and operation of the six Model M-38 pilot vehicles built preliminary to the production of vehicles to be supplied on Ordnance Contract W-20-089-ORD-4758. It must be recognized that these vehicles were subject to change during construction and in some cases optional construction used for test purposes. Any difference between the vehicles and information given is due to such changes and where optional construction is used both types have been covered where possible.
